American Slang

"I had your name tattooed inside of my arm..."

This is a favorite line of mine from The Gaslight Anthem's latest "American Slang."  An incredible song I suggest you check out here:

I started this blog to share all the cool things I find that aren't my own creation so I don't jam up my personal art blog, but still have to share.   Vintage photos, new photos - I keep quite a collection on my computer.  Or, some days, I might talk about my favorite song, etc...

For example:

Song of the Day:  "Raise it High" by Chamberlain
Wish I could find it online to link it, but it is on itunes. Awesome, anthemic rock song.  Check it out!

Retro Song of the Day:  "It's Only Make Believe" by Conway Twitty
There are some great versions of this song not least of which by Elvis Presley.  Bon Jovi did a great version one time only at a dinner to honor Arnold Swa...I won't even try to spell it, but you know, the governor of California.  Here's a cool link:

I love visuals, so I'll always post a handful:

Photo of the Day:

"Gonna take my horse and ride it off this merry-go-round." (Two Story Town - Bon Jovi)

Vintage Disneyland Photo:

May all my modern day photos be as gloriously washed out.

Cool Surf Art:

This is so cool.  Automatically one of my favorite surf images ever.

Let's go with another surf related image:

This is incredibly creative with the sheets and blankets.  I like it.

I could go on and on, but I have to go to bed for tonight.  After a little randomness, obviously surfing was on my mind.  I better get out this week.

Couple more - I want to represent myself with a picture I took that I enjoy:
Street of Dreams from atop the Kodak Theater. Can you find Darth Vader?

And then there's this little gem I found.  Check out that super cool computer!

All right - that's a big first post.   But this is a good representation of all the stuff I like, and you might too!
